The 2021 Rossignol Black Ops Escaper skis are a fun new offering built for playfulness and all-mountain versatility. With a great shape for any and all snow conditions, the skis are equally at home in fresh powder as they are on firm groomers. The 178 cm length has a 94 mm waist width, and this is right in the sweet spot for all-mountain skis looking for versatility. When that shape is combined with the build, skiers from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels will love the overall performance of the Escaper. Built with a Paulownia wood core, Rossignol adds some interesting technologies to boost performance. Starting with the Diago fiber inlays, the skis get that extra bit of strength to help with torsional and fore/aft stiffness. This material is very light and stiff and reacts well to the incorporation to the core. Damp Tech is found in the shovels of the ski to keep them from chattering while the Air Tip makes for a light swing weight to increase maneuverability and quickness. For skiers who like to mix it up in the woods and in the bumps, these aspects of the ski will make those experiences more fun and enjoyable. For the softer snow, tip and tail rocker assure the skier of proper flotation as well as releasement of turns. Camber underfoot keeps the ski snappy and poppy, as well as increasing edge grip and stability in technical and steep terrain.
