    Description

    Welcome!
Offered... a rare very elegant Navajo or Zuni or other Pueblo, very old hand constructed ingot bracelet which has fine hand stamp work, applied puffed crescent appliqués 21 pieces of gorgeous natural turquoise which include at least three pump drilled turquoise beads, applied small stamped raindrops. The central three turquoise stones are framed in finely hand twisted wire. The bracelet was made on one flattened piece of silver that was chisel separated into four in the central area. The bracelet was very finely hand stamped in a beautiful manner on the sides and to the terminals. There are indications of a very old repair on the inside of the foundation near the center, reinforced there with solder. None of the repair shows from the front; not at all when one wears the bracelet. One has to look at the back to see it. Each stone was hand set in serrated bezels. This is one of the most gorgeous and appealing old bracelets with a history that seems to reach out to us, fills the soul with joy. You can see it was well worn, well loved, and it's an aesthetically compelling very old piece.
The dimensions are: internal length 5-3/4", gap of 1", total 6-3/4". The width at the center is about 1-1/8" and the piece tapers gradually to 3/4" at the rounded, finished terminals. The weight of this piece is 59.6grams. I have no history; it's unsigned of course and not marked for metal content, as is usual for the age. It is at least coin silver at .900. it could have been made by one of the great Navajo smiths or one of the great Zuni smiths or other Pueblo, because it is a great very old bracelet made by a master silversmith with advanced and complex skills. Examine the quality of the stamp work carefully! It was made by one of the greats. It's in excellent vintage, wearable and collectible condition, unique, very very old and special.
In the pictures above I've shown it alone and combined with other bracelets; it works and holds its own with anything. This is a great collectors' item of exceptional beauty and refined construction. It is one of the most lovely bracelets probably dating to the 1930s but conceivably earlier. I wouldn't rule out earlier. It is one of my favorite bracelets. If I didn't have to let it go it would stay as part of my permanent collection. It's exquisitely fabulous.
