Instructions for replacing the motor in a vacuum pump Mercedes W140
Repair of the W140 vacuum pump with a burned-out JOHNSON motor consists in replacing the Unscrew the torx screws and push the chips on the contacts here.electric motor. To do this, you need to disassemble the PSE vacuum compressor, unscrew a couple of screws on the housing (TORX T20). Next, open the latches of the housing along the perimeter. After removing the bottom of the case, you need to unscrew the electronic board in the unit (TORX T7). Then you need to push the chips and nipples from the outside onto the metal contacts, squeeze the board out of the case. Together with it, pull the electric motor from the seat.
To check the operability of the vacuum pump motor, you need to unsolder one or all of the wires from it and apply 12V voltage to it.
To remove the graphite pump housing from the JOHNSON motor, you need to unscrew 3 screws (TORX T10), remove the top cover of the pump, the pump stator ring, remove the graphite plates from the pump rotor
To remove the rotor lock, it is necessary to carefully To remove the rotor lock, detach here.separate the lower part of the graphite pump from the metal base of the casing with two small slotted screwdrivers . Perhaps these parts will be glued together with a sealant, then you will need to separate them with a clerical knife. After that, carefully remove the lower graphite part of the body from the motor shaft together with the rotor and retainer.
We change the engine observing the polarity; on the engine, the plus is indicated by a red mark. And we collect everything in reverse order.

TTENTION!
After replacing the motor, check the tightness of the vacuum system (swap tubes for seats, doors, head restraints, sunroof, boot, etc.).
Check impeller for wedging.
Moisture is not allowed in the graphite pump.
Do not allow continuous operation of the pump, more than 7 seconds - BURN OUT!
