Vintage Panama Art Pottery Vase
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this large, vintage Panama California art pottery vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This large, handled pot has a dark green glaze (with a bluish tinge) on its exterior and the interior has a yellow glaze with small spots. It stands just over 12 inches tall. The maximum width is about 11 1/8 inches. Unpacked, this heavy vase weighs 11 pounds 15.3 ounces. This would be a good addition to a collection of California art pottery.
Identification
This old, unmarked vase is Panama pottery from Sacramento, California. Panama produced artware and utilitarian ware as a northern California competitor to southern California potteries such as Bauer, Catalina, and Pacific. The exact age is not known; it may be circa 1920s.
Condition
This pot looks good overall, with minor wear and no clay chips. There are some scratches along the widest part of the vase, with other scuffs/scratches here or there. The bottom has scratches, as expected for a heavy, old vase. There are some tiny, scattered pits and flakes to the glaze. To the rim area, near one handle, the top edge was bumped and it fractured slightly along the rim and slightly below it, but the piece did not chip off (someone has added color to the lower part of this area). As made, there are variations in glazing, popped glaze bubbles, tiny raised specks, and other minor production flaws. 1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
