This vintage solid copper bracelet shows a Thunderbird at the center with rain clouds, sun signs, lightning and arrow symbols. It has the hallmark of the Bell Trading Company and is marked solid copper. The band measures 7/8" wide. The bracelet size is 5 1/4" around with an additional 1 1/4" opening at the back for a total of 6 1/2" around. It weighs 1 ounce. This bracelet is in great vintage condition.
The Bell Trading post was founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1932 by Jack Michelson and his wife Mildred. The Bell company got its name from Jack’s wife, whose maiden name was Bell. Navajos were hired by Bell to create a range of items in silver, copper, and nickel, ranging from handmade to completely machine-manufactured.
