    Description

When I started making jewelry in 1974, I took prevailing advice and bought a leather mallet for working my metal. I regret that decision to this day! All I got from that mallet was a sore arm. Later on I discovered the mallet pictured above, and since then I've never picked up the old leather one. I LOVE this thing!
If you want to stretch and seriously shape some metal, use the plastic side. If you just want to lightly manipulate your metal without stretching or deforming, use the rubber side. It is just that simple. Although I've never had to replace mine, both of the heads are replaceable at minimal cost.
The cost of this mallet is 1/3 to 1/2 that of a leather version, it lasts much longer, it gives you choices and your work goes much faster. What's not to love?  Overall length 10.5" and the heads are 1" diameter. Now with hardwood handle, but heads are as shown.
