Unusual Metal Punching Frame from Cast Iron/ Rotational Guide
There is no marks of manufacture or part number on this casting. The cylinder slides up and down and would carry a 3/8" shank punch. The pocket is 1-5/8" dia. The slide is keyed so it can't rotate allowing the use of an shaped punch. There are two bolt holes to mount a stripper plate and the punch carrier is notched at the top to insert into a holder and be retracted. I suspect this unit may have been made for the ubiquitous kick punches in the small metal fab and spring making business. Base csting is about 6" hi.
