    Description

A blue tulip shaped vintage art pottery vase with a pedestal style foot and a stunning, rich turquoise blue glaze with a crackled or crazed pattern on the glaze. The turquoise blue glaze also has a gradient that lightens at the mouth of the vase, drawing attention to thin, curved shape of the lip, which allows for very sculptural, fan shaped flower arrangements. The vase is signed "La Mirada" on the bottom. La Mirada was founded in Los Angeles, California by Cecil Jones, a talented English Ceramicist  in 1935. The factory was known for vibrant colored glazes and Asian inspired shapes. The company only operated under the "La Mirada" name until 1939, so this beautiful blue tulip vase was produced sometime during that 4 year period. This is a very interesting piece from an unusual short-lived California pottery company, and it is in excellent vintage condition. Some staining on the inside of the vase, but otherwise no flaws or condition issues that I could find.
Measurements: The vintage art pottery vase is 6" tall, 6" long, and 2 1/2" wide.

I do not offer returns, so please read the item description and look at all the pictures carefully. I do my best to describe things accurately, but I am only human, and it's always possible that I missed something. I also don't always know which details are important to a collector, so if you feel like you need more information, I am happy to answer any questions or send you more pictures if you need that to be confident in your purchase. This is a family-run business, so please allow for some time between responses. I am willing to bundle shipping, so feel free to look at my other listings here:
