Wet Plate Collodion Gundlach 4x5 Large Format Camera Outfit w/ Brass Petzval Lens
For your consideration: This is a 4x5 Gundlach/Korona camera with new replacement bellows . The wood has a nice patina and I didn't notice any cracks or splits; the wood has the normal wear that accompanies a camera of this vintage. There is some minor wood scuffing on one side (see images). The movements work as they should and lock in place. The leather handle shows wear. The metal trim shows some minor tarnishing, but overall is in nice condition. The camera is ready to use.
The camera can be mounted on a tripod that has a 1/4-20" thread.
Included with this listing is an unbranded brass petzval lens. The lens covers the 4x5 format nicely and the lens moves as it should with the radial drive; the brass has a nice patina - shows age. The glass is clear with minimal separation at the extreme edges of the optics; nothing that will affect image quality.
Included in with the camera are two
NEW
4x5 Wet Plate Collodion tanks; one for developing and the other for fixing the images. Both tanks include the dipper. T
The inserts for the developing tank is made of PVC-FF and will hold up to the chemicals used in wet plate photography and is removable for cleaning.
The tank will hold approximately 300ml of chemistry. The dipper is used to agitate and hold the glass plate during processing. The outer tank is made of pine/birch and painted with mahogany stain and coated with polyurethane. The lid is double hinged and has a draw catch on the front to keep the lid secure. The fixing tank is made from Birch wood that is stained and coated with polyurethane. The inner tank is made from acrylic and comes with a lid and (clear - not red) dipper.
Both tanks can be inclined back.
The tanks are handmade in America. Because the tanks are not assembly-line produced, no two are alike.  The glass drying rack is made of cherry wood, stained with cherry wood stain, and coated with polyurethane.
The plate holder is also
NEW
and will hold a 4x5 glass plate 2-3mm thick. The plate holder can also hold a tin type, but may need a spacer between the film back and tin to hold the tin flat against the 4x5 frame depending on the thickness of the metal. The holder is made from cherry wood, stained with mahogany stain, and coated with polyurethane and almost the same thickness as a traditional 4x5 film holder. The wet plate holder is hand made in America - no two are alike. The inside is painted with oil based black paint. The holder has a brass hinge and door lock to keep the back secure while taking pictures. The wood holder is made for the beginner; and is a great way to start out without spending a lot of money.
For heavy wet plate plate holder use, I would recommend purchasing a plastic holder when you are ready to upgrade.

I will accept returns (Up to 10 DAYS from date of receiving the cameras) as long as the wet plate equipment (holder, dry rack, and tanks) have not been used, and everything is returned in original condition as received.
